Knight Rider Night

As a kid, I had to be in by 9pm every night. Period.

But, the only exception my brother and I could go across the street and watch Knight Rider (9 pm start time) at the Knoll's place (home of Keith, Kevin, Kyle and Kris Knoll.)

For some reason, the undeniable cultural power of Knight Rider persuaded my parents to lift the curfew. At first we were jazzed about the show, (talking car? I'm there!) but after a while the show got boring

I still wanted to stay out late, so I kept feigning enthusiasm for the show. My brother and I kept going to the Knolls where we'd put on Knight Rider to maintain the ruse and then do something else.

Every week, I'd come home at 10 and then my dad would ask "so, how was your show?" I'd say "pretty cool" and then nervously hope that he didn't watch the show and grill me about it.
